MAAT Program at Wheeling Jesuit University
This summer I began working on a Masters in Theology
through a distance learning program run by Wheeling Jesuit University and the
Roman Catholic Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. As a component if this program,
I will be working with high school students who are writing a religion
textbook.
Writers' Club
I moderate two student writing clubs, one for junior
high students and one for senior high school students. In these clubs we use a
workshop model to discuss our writing. Most members are working on novels, short
stories, or poetry.
Writing Enrichment Program
As part of my project for the WVU Writing Project, I
am exploring options for enrichment activities for writing students.
I work with various groups and organizations. I teach
in the confirmation program at St. Peter's Church, where I also work with youth
ministry and Bible study programs and act as the leader for the Cadette Girl
Scout troop. I've been involved with various initiatives for education and
advocacy for people with autism, including the Discrete Trial Resource Group of
the Autism Society of West Virginia.
